I was in process of moving a clients site from one DA server to another.

Used the Backup function to create a tar.gz of entire site, including email.

Downloaded it and uploaded it to the /backup directory of the new site.

Then when I use the Restore feature, the Email and Database options are greyed out. DB I can understand as there were none, but the one email acct (default one) has 123mb of data and it IS in the tar.gz.

Thoughts?

Do you have a DirectAdmin license and/or root access to the server? If not you should contact your hosting provider.

If you do, are you running the same version of DirectAdmin on both servers? If not (and even if) what version is that?
If this is an urgent matter, try deleting the user on the new server, making a bakup of the user on the old server under the reseller and then restoring on the new server through the reseller level. Or you can extract and restore the mail by hand...

Actually, I work for the provider...;) that is having this issue.

I just looked and no they are not the same..old server is 1.24.2 while new one is 1.24.3

So, looks to be a bug in 1.24.3 that won't let it restore the email.

If it's in the tarball you can extract it and position the file(s) manually.

Problem with that is I don't have root. I suppose I'll get Gary to update the older servers version. That should fix it. But this should not be an issue to begin with....never ran into a problem like this in dozens of DA moves.:P

Actually, no.
