Hye! I'm a Newbie with directadmin.com and I've just create a new mail (POP3) account.
The setting are well settled in Microsoft Outlook.
My problem is that I can't send e-mails with my adress but I can receive them?

Why?

So If somebody could help me a lil' bit....

Do you get an error mesage? If so, what is it?

Or is the mail just never delivered?

Who's the ISP?

Do you have your own DA server? Or do you have an account with a company using DA?

If the former, then your first step would be to watch your logfiles (both mainlog and rejectlog) in realtime while attempting to send the email to see if your ISP even allows outgoing email to reach your server.

If you're a user of an account on a server managed by DirectAdmin you can't check anything yourelf; you'll have to contact your provider.

most of the time people forget to activiate the option " re-authenticate on outgoing email server" under outlook express

this maybe the reason you are unable to send .... you should receive them ok !!

same thing here

but only happens on 1 of 9 DA servers, just so happens is the server that i have the main site on

Make sure you are able to send email via port 25 most ISP's block that port. You might want to see if an alternate port is configured for SMTP on your server. Do a seach for block.

Yeah I read that but it doesn't actually tell you how to fix the problem.

Will try 101 and see if they can sort it out.

Cheers

Same email problem

Hi I Have the same email problem. The message i get is :
- Send test email message: the specified server was found, but there was no response from the server. Please verify the port and SSL information is correct. to access these setting close this dialog, then click More Setting and click Advanced tab.
- Find outgoing mail server (SMTP: Outlook could not connect to the outgoing mail server (SMTP). THe problem could be the server name or port, or your server may not support SSl. Very your port and SSL setting in MOre settings under advaced tab.

I am using outlook 2003. And under my email settings I have my outgoing Server (SMTP) required authentication checked and also i tired the settings for Use same setting as my incomming mail server and also log on using.

Thank you,
Shawn
