Hi

I have DirectAdmin (DA) setup on a VPS server running CentOS 7. I have had some issues with the provider, so they have suggested one solution is to maybe move my VPS instance onto another node (physical server). This means the two IP addresses that I was allocated will change. As far as I know, the content of the VPS will just be moved. I am currently making a fresh admin backup of all the sites on DA before anything else.

What I need to know is...

1) what changes within DirectAdmin and elsewhere within the VPS instance do I need to make regarding the IP change?
2) would it be easier for me to do a fresh install of CentOS and DirectAdmin then just upload my DA backups afterwards?

Basically, I'm not sure what the best way to deal with this is? I seem to remember registering my IPs with some sort of registry for reverse DNS or something like that, this was a couple of years ago, so memory a bit vague.

Any help most welcome?

If your VPS will just be moved and receive a different IP address, then look at the /usr/local/directadmin/scripts/ipswap.sh script, that will go through all your files and update them with the new IP address.

Thanks very much toml

Appreciate the suggestion, will give it a go in near future.
