Changing HELO and RDNS

How does one change the DA.direct hostnames on the email server side? It is has been changed to DA.domain.tld on all other aspects of the server

For instance:

helo=server-xx-xx-xx-xxx.da.direct; pr=C

Received: from server-xx-xx-xx-xxx.da.direct (xx.xx.xx.xx) by

by server-xx-xx-xx-xxx.da.direct with esmtpsa  (TLS1.3) tls TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384

You can do that by changing the servers hostname and take care of a correct PTR/rDNS record. That last one can be done via your VPS/server provider or datacenter where you got the ip from.

First you have to setup the hostname correctly:

This is a guide on how to create a correct FQDN hostname on a sever or VPS.
I created this newly here in this section, for easier reference and it's also easier to find.

There is also another method, but the method described here is another method which is also still very usable.

Before you install Directadmin you can already take care the correct hostname is used bij Directadmin.

The domain mydomain.com is used her as example and 192.168.0.1 as example server ip. Ofcourse replace all examples with the domain or hostname your are using. So don't use 192.168.0.1 in the real situation...
