Changing IP for a domain without downtime

Hi there,

Is there a way to prevent downtime when changing an IP address of a certain domain?

Note that we're using an external DNS server (that we can access), and the directadmin CP on our own server.

Thanks in advance for any pointers!
 
Yes. There are directions here on the forum to do it. I am not going to search the forum for you.
 
You could create a custom VirtualHost with the old IP address and the same content as the new VirtualHost, until any DNS cache is expired.
