ClamAV 0.98.3 released

There have been talks about a wiki in the past, however as of yet there still isn't anything (not sure if anyone is working on something right now).

Personally while reading your reply about tags, the system of stackexchange.com came to mind. Issues there must be tagged; and issues can be linked if there are duplicates etc.

Also I think help.directadmin.com and directadmin.com/features.php are a kind of a mess; you can't easily find everything. Also some entries are outdated or unclear.

But for many many years all this has been the system; I don't see it changing any time soon. Although the idea of creating a wiki where the community could contribute still sounds interesting.

My input would be, the section should focus really on what custombuild handles.

If it's not in custom build, it should be a third-party section.

Both are just as valuable in my opinion.

As to who can and cant post, I think having the community interact is one of its key successes so limiting it might detract from what makes the community here so successful.

I've offered to build a wiki. For years. I've got a few domains which would be perfect. I've got the room for a machine, even a machine which would get lots of hits. I'm willing to supply the following hardware if necessary:

12 GB memory, 8 Xeon Cores, 1 TB RAID, 100 mbps unmetered connection

(help with the hosting cost appreciated but not required)

But in order for me to feel comfortable moving forard, I'd need to see a structured group with occasional meetings (virtual of course), and a code of conduct. I just don't trust the Wikipedia model; not with the spam we get here on the forums (you don't see most of it but I do).

So... shall we try again?

Jeff

I too would like to contribute where possible. Perhaps a system between wiki and fully closed could be an option; I think people might be willing to contribute in smaller or bigger ways if the threshold isn't too high.

I would gladly make time to help you guys and/or contribute in some way in such project. So if you want me, count me in.

I've got a whole data center sitting next to me with more bandwidth than you can shake a stick at.

I can help on the hosting/hardware end as well too if needed, just let me know.
