Don't know if you're talking about the same thing as what i think you're talking about... 
But DA reads the values of ifconfig, but ifconfig's values are of a certain variable type that can't contain more than a certain amount (thought it was a Long or somethign), if it passed the max value, it resets...
What you can do is install snmpd & mrtg & mrtg hosters edition.
