Hello,

I don't understand what to do with DA when I want to add a user who has his domain located on other ISP's DNS servers. By default DA always create master dns zone for new users, but I don't need it for this case. So, may I have manualy to change that zone to slave from master in named.conf, or remove it at all?
Sorry for my english..

If your user is going to use DNS hosted somewhere else than you can either delete the DNS or leave it; it shouldn't matter since a properly configured DNS server shouldn't ever serve domains for the local machine.

If you leave it, then you may want to make sure it conforms to the ISP's published DNS zone file.

However in general it's not a good idea to let your clients use external DNS; if they do and you change your IP#s, they won't be able to access their site until they make changes at their ISP.

You can't stop them. I always explain why I'm trying to talk them out of it.

Jeff
