Custombuild & Issues

If that would be done only on fresh installs I don't mind.

But I agree with @jamgames2 this should not be done on existing systems.
Some people do not upgrade everything always of their OS or just wait to update a little bit for a reason.

That other devs do it, does not automatically make it right. For example cP also use their own binaries so they need everything to be compatible with their own rpm's.

Ofcourse people should keep their systems up to date.

Hello Richard, I respect your views. But, DirectAdmin ownself says to install the panel on Clean OS (https://docs.directadmin.com/getting-started/installation/installguide.html). So, why should an SysAdmin install it on a existing system with something else installed, I'm not able to match the things. And, if the OS is newly installed or what we say 'Clean OS' then, how can it make miserable by running an update command. Personally, I have never found an OS to be misrably failing after an update. At least, never on a newly installed Clean OS.

I'm sorry if I confused you. I was under the impression that it was intended the yum update command would also be given on/before DA updates. Because here an issue was also fixed by doing an OS update. And because it was stated cP also does that before every update.

That was what I was talking about. Ofcourse DA needs to be installed on a clean OS and if a yum update is done at that time, it's no problem at all, like I also stated.
I doubts about the idea of doing it every time just before every DA update.
Maybe it's more clear now what I ment.

Ha ha, no issues mate. All we were talking about the New Installation :P Not on every update of DA. Because, the issue occured on New Installation for not doing a yum update before starting the installation. So, I just suggested if the installer detects which OS it is & then issue an update command but @smtalk doubted that if everybody would like it natively or not. But, what I saw, every other control panel script included it by default for the very first installation.
