First, when I created the domains, I have noticed that the welcome email never shows the user password, it just says
Password: * irretrievable *

Second, The welcome email tells users how to connect by FTP until the domain resolves.

Use 69.74.45.222/~theuser to access it until the domain resolves.

Well, that never works and naver has.
Is this a known bug, a config issue or what ?

I have tried connecting to domains
multiple times using multiple clients.

I have created a domain for YOU to try connecting to !

Use 69.74.45.222/~testda to access it until the domain resolves.

username testda
pass testda

Thanks,
Glenn

It gives the password the first time it's sent. Afterwards it can only send the word "irretrievable" because DA doesn't store the passwors in any human-understandable format and it truly doens't know what the password is.

It appears that the welcome email template was never changed when that "feature" was removed because it allowed users to steal system bandwidth.

You can change the message.

Thanks for the responce Is there any way to re-activate that feature and if not where can I find the welcome email template to modify ?

Thanks again,
Glenn

nevermind a quick search found
where to save the file...

/usr/local/directadmin/data/templates/custom/u_welcome.txt

Is there a FAQ containing issues like these ?
