Dedicated Server IP change - new license trouble

Hello guys, my dedicated server came under a dDOS attack and was shut down. What we did was give the server a new IP.
Old IP:
38.119.156.23

New IP:
38.119.156.24

My host told me they would have to e-mail DA to get a new license because DA wouldnt work with the server if the IP has been changed. Everything went smooth and the server can be now ping'ed under the new IP, but DA doesn't want to start as a service, I have seen this in the logs.

So I logged in through SSH and tried starting it manually, this is what I received:

Code:
The ip of this machine does not match the ip in the license file : 38.119.156.24<br>

.. but how can this be if my new ip *IS* 38.119.156.24 ?!

This is giving me problems because for some reason I cant use my NS server to direct traffic for my appropriate hosted sites. My site url is http://www.trancetraffic.com
Both ns1/ns2 are hosted on my physical server (xxx.xxx.xxx.31/33) and can be pinged, but trancetraffic.com CANNOT.

I am guessing this is because DA is not starting up?

Can anyone direct me in the right direction here please? Thank you.

p.s.: I can access my website when I do a http://38.119.156.24/~user/

Ok guys, I`m in a REAL hole now, my website has been down for almost a full week because of constant delays and things not working (not necessarily DA related).

I have downloaded the license, DA now starts and runs fine. Here is a list of things that are not working:

- Once I've created a reseller, that user is automatically made to the one that can only access my server through SSH? Why?

- I have created a reseller and a user through DA, but my website www.trancetraffic.com is not resolving, I cannot even PING it !

.. old nameservers (ns1/ns2.trancetraffic.com) still seem to be functinal as I can ping them, all 3 ip(s) are the same physical machine for everyone's information, but the new server ip 38.119.156.24 is no longer corresponding to trancetraffic.com ?! Why not?!

Shouldnt the nameserver point to the new IP?!

.. I am so depressed and out of ideas right now I am willing to pay someone to login and take a quick look-over and get my website running again, i am extremely desperate at this moment.

I have created a new reseller that share(s) the main IP and has two free ip(s) for nameservers (3 in total, 1 of them shared).

Then from the reseller login, I've created a user with trancetraffic.com domain and created ns1/ns2.trancetraffic.com as name servers with xxx.xxx.xxx.31/33 as ip which is what they always were.

So why can I not reach/resolve trancetraffic.com ?!
going to http://38.119.156.24/~trancetraf works fine.

Any help please, I`m on my last breath here, thank you.

p.s.: If anyone wishes to take up my offer of going through the setup with/for me, I can be reached on MSN [email protected] or ICQ at 1244877 or on Yahoo with alias "zdrux".

zdrux, please either contact me by telephone or write to my support address (I don't answer the directadmin email address in real time after 6 PM local time in California). You can find my support address (suitably blocked from being lifted by spammers) at http://www.nobaloney.net/contactus.html

(I don't use any sort of IM.)

Ok, I've been talking to jlasman from support through email in the last little while and he's been alot of help.

It was explained to me that the master/root DNS server(s) (not my DA box) do not have my new updated IP that is why its pointing to the old address and cannot be pinged.

I was under the impression that as long as my nameservers IP(s) dont change, it should all work fine which isnt the came.

I have emailed my registrar to update the records on my behalf, and all I can do now is sit and wait untill the changed take place, hopefully this will solve all the problems.

Thanks for the plug zdrux :) .

I do want to point out that I am not part of the DA staff or the DA company; I run an independent support and administration company, nobaloney.net.
