Ok here is my situation.

I am switching hosts. New host runs DirectAdmin. My domain is still pointing to my old host and the site still resides at the old host.

I downloaded all of my vbulletin files from my old host and uploaded them to the new host via FTP. My question which the host was not able to answer for me was this.

My php files do not load when I click on them in file manager but my image files work fine. Is this something in direct admin that keeps the php files from working correctly until a domain is set to the site? Just need some clarification. Thanks.

you could try.
server-ip/~nameaccount/.php file

normally everything works even without a domain. this option could be disabled by your new host but most likely they don't till there is a real domain linked to the account.

i have no experiance with vbulletin so don't know if that one really needs some connection with domain name.

The best way to check a domain on a new server is to modify your hosts file on your own computer to point the domain to the new ip address. The you can use the domain as normal.

I am still pretty new, can you walk me through this a little more?
