We're pleased to announce the release candidate of DirectAdmin 1.61.4.

The most notable changes are below:

Features:

• Per-Domain php settings via GUI
• Optional zstd backup compression (instead of tar.gz or zip)
• Notices for manual suspension
• new custom template: additional_forbidden_domains.list
• User controlled ModSecurity settings
• Default change: disable_ip_check=1
• FileManager: option to not have "move to trash" checked by default
• FileManager: v2 : Major changes, OS-like feel
• LetsEncrypt: Lego dnsproviders for wildcard certs on various remote dns services
• ModSecurity scanned by Brute Force Monitor: modsec_audit.log

Bugfixes:

• Improved error handling on large file uploads
• Set LC_CTYPE to "" for special characters
• Show fewer SSL key bit-sizes
• Improved Rspamd wildcard matching
• wp-login.php BFM multiplier from 4x to 50x
• CMD_API_POP?type=quota now uses doveadm for better performance
• FileManager to use mtime, not ctime
• /usr/local/directadmin/plugins to chmod 711
• Clear Message not showing list of auto-fill subjects
• LiteSpeed: Always define php handler
• ubandwidth (and all other u* items) =no|OFF now respected
• FileManager: Trash listing to be done based on original data, not .trashinfo file
• LetsEncrypt: delete domain.com.letsencrypt_remaining_retries after success
• Install: './directadmin i' to not install proftpd.conf. Let CustomBuild add it
• Delete php-fpmXX.conf files if php=OFF is set for the User
• Enhanced skin: revert to "en" if the translated html is missing for a custom lang (prevents "none" message)
• Optimization: string to json string
• DNS: Pointers: Duplicate records with subdomain pointer cause issues

Related to the feature "Default change: disable_ip_check=1" I'm also having the issue that it's switching between my IPv6 and IPv4 IPs constantly.
I was searching for some clarification why it don't sticks to the IPv6 if available.

I'd suggest using never_commands list for this (directadmin.conf) to disable it globally, alternatively you can just use commands.deny for it: https://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=1171

Zstd has a much better (de)compression ratio and speed when using a dictionary. The disadvantage is that you always need to carry around the dictionary otherwise you can't decompress the file. The dictionary file could be generated from a set of files available in the most used CMS'es (WordPress, Joomla) and used in/spread by DirectAdmin so everyone is using the same dictionary but the archive can't be opened outside the DirectAdmin backup/restore system.

Any idea how we can solve the disadvantage? I don't know how large a dictionary file is, however you can't include it in the archive (nice chicken and egg problem haha)...

Problems loading the skin appeared for 3rd time in a row. Please contact tech support for troubleshooting.
If the problem does not resolve after refresh, you may reset the skin to enhanced.

It's first time we get this reported. Would it be possible to get access to your host (if latest pre-release does not solve it)? Any errors in browser console?

Before the last release there was a white screen, now this error. What is the best way to transfer access to you?

Filemanager has a bug, Upload does not work on pre-release.

Also just a suggestion.

• Don't hide the Upload Button under "New"
• Reduce icon sizes
• On first load, the side menu is covering almost half of the page. This should not be the case

What’s the browser? Did you just drag and drop files from your desktop? Any errors in browser console?

I'm using google chrome. I did not use drag and drop. I clicked directly on the uploader and selected the file directly.

There is an error in request to CMD_FILE_MANAGER?json=yes, may you copy-paste (you can PM it to me) JSON from the network tab?
We suspect it's existing file-check issue.
