Solved DirectAdmin Get a 30-day Free Trial!

During Black Friday I bought an identical server for less money.

The problem is I have 2 servers and 1 "owned license". After transferring all data from the old (expensive) server to the new identical (cheaper) server I don't need a second DA license. But I need a second license (I think) to make use of the restore functions.

First scenario: Is it OK to use the "30-day Free Trial" for this purpose?

Second scenario: If I change the ip address in my license to the new server, will the old server be accessible (even a limited time would be ok) with DA and will the backup functions work?

I guess I can make backups before and restore them after, but setting up a DA server and porting all modifications from the old server takes some time. Not to mention testing if everything works as expected. To avoid downtime that would not be an ideal situation.

Any other suggestions?

Email sales they will help you with the licensing part.
 
I've been able to do a move between servers by changing the ip in the licence, but as bdacus said: contact sales, they'll know the best.
 
The old server will still work until that server requests the license to be refreshed.
 
I've done this by changing IP. DirectAdmin will still function but without updates/support, websites will not go down.
 
Check the license expired date.

This is something important that would need to be asked, in cPanel you can install a trial right away -no need to signup for a trial, it is autimatic if the IP hasn't been used before- so I installed the trial and then moved my sites and the switched the license.
