Hello, please look at the below system info DirectAdmin is showing me:

Processor Name Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00GHz
Vendor ID GenuineIntel
Processor Speed (MHz) 1200.000
Processor Name Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00GHz
Vendor ID GenuineIntel
Processor Speed (MHz) 1200.000

I am on a Pentium D 3ghz server (which is a dual-core processor). Obviously the processor speed is incorrect. Why is this and how can this be fixed?

DirectAdmin is returning information from the OS. The OS is returning information it's getting directly from the BIOS interface to the processor.

It's saying each core is running at 1.2 GHz.

I'd say that a linux/unix forum (depending on your OS) may be able to help you figure out why. If not, perhaps an Intel forum.

Is speed-stepping enabled in BIOS or 'cpuspeed' set up and running in OS? This will make the processor dynamically adjust speeds based on system load. Conserves power and less heat dissipation.

yeah, check out if your cpu does as the above post says, reduce clock speed to save on power

if it doesn't or isn't turned on perhaps you've got mismatched RAM or something? with my old p4 2.6ghz, it'd run at 1.3ghz if I used ram with different timings (i.e. 1xCL2.5 and 1xCL3 would == 1.3ghz)

I'm not much of a hardware person though so take what I say lightly
