Disallowing Password Recovery

I have a question on this issue.
If I disable the password recovery, will there be a system security increase?
If yes, in case I forget the password, how can I reset / change the password when password recovery is disabled?

You can change any password in a shell (SSH) with root privileges.

Changing the password using the passwd command may not change it in all places. Instead I'd recommend logging in to the control panel as admin, and changing it there.

Sure, if a password to DA is lost. You can recover it via shell. And then change it in directadmin to grant access to FTP/MAIL/MySQL.

Clarification: you cannot recover a password; you can only change it.
