Just for this discussion the domain name used here is seberbia.de
Here is the question - Company_A has few hundred "first-level-domains" (eg: seberbia.de) and they are registered with different registrars, .de, .org, .sp etc.. For some reason they didn’t configure any sub-domains for any of those first-level-domains, not even www. So a user is just told to type seberbia.de for instance to get to the webserver. Even the business brochure are printed that specify seberbia.de.
So, now with the migration work going on, if we were to move this apps to new location, they would need to use the Cisco GSS (Global Site Selector) for DR. Can we configure a NS in our DNS server for seberbia.de pointing it to the GSS as authoritative? In future they may have mail server for that domain, so can we also point it to somewhere else for the MX record from the same DNS server.
Something like this in the DNS:
seberbia.de NS gss.Company_A.com
MX mail.seberbia.de
Don’t know if my question is clear, not knowing enough about DNS I may have used wrong terms to explain the situation. You can call me at my desk if you want to discuss - 313-390-2499
