Dear all

Question regarding SOA, if I look at the SOA records of domains which we host, there is always

example.com. 14400 IN SOA ns.server.com. hostmaster.example.com. 2010030600 14400 3600 1209600 86400

I note that there is "hostmaster.example.com." rather there should be "hostmaster.server.com".

Why is this so or how it can be changed?

Thanks
HKI

Specifically what do you want to change?

Generally you'd find the template, move it to the custom directory, and make the change in the custom directory. Then it will work for all future domains.

For it to work for already added domains you'll have to rewrite the zones for all the domains through DirectAdmin; this has been discussed previously on these forums.

First, do this...

cp /usr/local/directadmin/data/templates/named.db /usr/local/directadmin/data/templates/custom/named.db

Now edit the /usr/local/directadmin/data/templates/custom/named.db file and change the |EMAIL| value to whatever you want...

Remeber to NOT use the @ symbol.

If your email address is [email protected] then you must insert this value: hostmaster.us.com.

Also remember to include the dot after the email address. It must be hostmaster.us.com.
