Do I need CUPS?

Hi,

I have a question regarding CUPS. I was wondering if it is necessary to have this process start on boot if I do not use my server to print. It seems to take a few minutes to start up and in turn makes my server take longer to reboot. So I was curious if I need it and if not how do I either remove it or stop it from starting?

just uninstall it, a server dont really need it i think

I can't say with certainty for other OS Distribution, but some CentOS and Red Hat RPMs require it be present (poor package design). Best to just set it so it won't start automatically.
