Which spam filters? Do you mean the DirectAdmin Spam Filter link at the user login level?
They should do what you've set them up to do. All Squirrelmail is, is an IMAP client; it will give you access to your mailboxes and other mail folders you've set up using IMAP.

In SquirrelMail in Options,Spam Filters, Edit and I turn them all on. Is there something else I have to do , because I have only seen one other place to filter mail and that is in the User side of Direct Admin, and that seem to be a pain switching from mail to there to set up Blocking. Thanks for replying

I didn't even know that existed. And I don't know if it uses it's own code or somehow piggy tails on something installed in DirectAdmin.
Nor do I know what may be required to make it work. For example, to be able to sort into an alternative mailbox it likely requires a specific delivery agent.
Judging by the lack of response, no one else may know either.
But, for example, on my screen, when I visit the Spam Filter page, I see this:
WARNING! Tell the administrator to set the "SpamFilters_YourHop" variable.
Is this displayed for you as well? Is it turned on for your server?

Yes I see that to. Everything was on off position and I clicked Edit at the top and turned it all on but as I stated it hasn't filtered anything out. So I took the easy way out for now til I find a better way. I just changed any account that was associated with the email address and made a new addy and deleted the old one. I don't know how spammers got it but I'm guessing they have crawlers now to like search engines do. I was getting 400 to 500 emails a day from spammers and had to scroll thru the whole list. I have trend micro and I don't even see where it is doing anything in windows 8.1, I don't think they put the foundation in the mail program for any programs to be able to scan incoming messages. They refer you to the mail box your mail is coming from. Hence the reason I started looking in the server for scanning. If one uses Direct Admin, is there a faster way to add search key words or address to filter? Its get to the point I can't even copy and paste from one screen to another. Windows is really going down hill. To much Company Gym time, Latte's and not enough work. They went to making phone app which need to be small but they remove 90% of the control one had over there email accounts. So I guess it is time to visit Direct Admins more and see what it can do. Maybe Squirrel mail has add-ons I haven't visited yet.

DirectAdmin's spam filter isn't a simple file. If I recall correclty it's a perl program. So while you could write a script to modify it directly, it might not be easy unless you're a professional perlmonger.
As to Windows 8 & 8.1, what you're doing should be a bit easier if you switch to the legacy interface, which will allow you multiple windows on the screen at the same time (I believe the 'windows' key toggles between the two interfaces).
Look for a much better experience with Windows 10, due out later this year. I've been playing with an early pre-release copy and I may switch back to Windows from Linux for mydesktop (only maybe, nothing definite yet); it's got an easy-to-use multi-windows interface, can mix both new-style 'apps' and old-style programs on the same desktop, and offer multiple virtual desktops and other helpful features. As soon as Linux Tools (cygwin.com) are available for Windows 10 it will be worth considering.
