Domain already exists

Hey guys, I'm having a slight problem. Here's the deal, I've reinstalled direct admin because since I'm new to this I've screwed up a couple of instances so I decided to start again, the thing is that when I create my user outside the admin level and I give the domain I want to use in it, it says that the domain already exists even though I'm running an empty instance in which I just created the user package, how can I solve this ? I already tried to delete residual data from ssh but it keeps happening. Halp.
