I've got a friend/client that has a website which is provided by the company that she works for. It's URL is something like:

http://www.thecompany.com/her-name

When you go there it redirects to:

http://www.thecompany.com/the-page.aspx?id=2134292

The site is actually not too bad considering most of these sites that are provided are no good. This one actually looks nice and is functional.

I'm curious to know if there is a way to buy a domain name and have it (using DNS) point to the other site. For example:

www.DomainNameToPurchase.com

would point to:

http://www.thecompany.com/her-name

However, I want the www.DomainNameToPurchase.com to be the URL that is seen.

Is this possible using ONLY DNS or is it only possible to do this using frames?

I'm a little confused with the "Just search for web uploading company". Could you clarify please?

Also, just to be clear, we have no access to "the company's" site that was setup for her. Therefore, I can't go into her site and change the server settings.

The post from @Profbube is what I call a junk post and has been deleted, as it makes no sense at all.

If you can't get into her site and change the settings then the only thing you can do is set it up using a zero-sized frame.

But if you do that, then no matter what the visitor clicks on, the URL bar won't change.
