Domain Pointer goes to subdomain not the root

Hi

I've got site abc.com and a batch of new domains such as xyz.com, xyz.biz

I've added the xyz domains as domain pointers (alias and pointer) but they try to go to xyz.abc.com rather than www.abc.com

How do I set these up to point to www.abc.com?
