Download complete folder instead of individual files

On my site, I have a password protected folder with other folders inside. When we click on a folder, there is a list of the files contained in that folder. Is there someway we can just download the whole folder instead of having to download the files individually?

You can use FTP to download the folder.

Thanks very much for your response. Can you recommend easy to use (the people who will be downloading these folders are not very tech-savvy) ftp software that is free or inexpensive? Ease of use is most important.

FileZilla (free) or SmartFTP (not free) are two of my favorites. Internet Explorer also has some FTP capabilities built in, though they are rather limited. To use Internet Explorer, just type ftp://[email protected], or just ftp://ftp.youdomain.com if you don't have anonymous FTP turned on, into the address bar. You'll then be asked for your username and password to login.
