download.configserver.com:443 is down?

Directadmin might provide update directly same as other pacakge like apache, nginx, PHP.

Totally agree on that , firewall part is really important to let it manage by 3th party "vendors".
@fln @DirectAdmin Support please support CSF program as part of DA.
Lot of people are afraid to do the manual update from resources they dont know

Sure, we will soon be releasing a new DA version. It will bump CSF version to 15.00. This is the last release that got released under GPLv3 license a couple of days ago.

The DA 1.682 already supports installing custom CSF version. It is actually possible to get CSF 15.00 right now (without updating DA) if 15.00 is set as a custom CSF version.

How would DA 1.682 or the routines for v15.00 GPLv3 switch impact things if I decide to switch to my own hosted CSF mirror version that restores the download/version check routines in CSF - so that CSF -u and auto updates will look to my CSF mirror for updates? My mirrored CSF version with restored version check/download is currently on v15.01 version label. Just curious if DA 1.682 would overwrite my mirrored CSF v15.01 version ?

Indeed, the method we always use if it concerns an important update.

I've been getting this error message for the past couple of days.

Configserver.com's web site now says

Announcement
Way to the Web Ltd and Configserver.com has closed down permanently on 31 August 2025.

This announcement was first made on our blog and this website on 30 July 2025 to allow our customers time to update their software or otherwise prepare for our company’s closure.

Will there be a DA update to reflect and replace this?

Yes, DA put out another update yesterday to 1.683. If you update your directadmin, that will trigger some updates to PHP 8.3 and CSF to version 15.00 GPLv3. If you don't want to update DA, you can always go across to waytotheweb's GitHub repo and manually install CSF.
