email forwarding not working

I am running latest DA on CentOS 4.3.
Regular email appears to be working incoming/outgoing.

However, when I setup email forwarding rules via DA, emails never seem to appear where the email forwarding rule states.
And the sent email doesn't get bounced back either.

Anybody have any ideas?
How do I even begin to troubleshoot?

Thanks.

Are there any errors or messages in the Exim logs? Have a look in /var/log/exim for messages related to address(es) in question.

You might also want to take a look at /etc/virtual/domaininquestion.com/aliases to ensure there isn't a problem with the file.

are the emails you are forwarding from (eg, [email protected]) setup?

sometimes when you forward a non-existing email it won't work (with me it didnt).

peace.

yes, i have setup the [email protected] email account and then after that i did make a forwarding rule.

i tried both ways with no luck either way.

i've noticed mail originating from gmail are not coming through and there is an entry in /var/log/maillog from spamd

what is spamd? is looks like it is getting flagged as spam, but where does the email go and what the heck is spamd?

thanks.
Hao.

same problem

Hi i see it's been a long time you have post this,

but i was wondering i've yo solved the gmail problem?

thanks !

The spamd daemon is part of SpamAssassin. If it's marking an email as spam, then it goes wherever is set in SpamAssassin settings for that user's account.
