Error creating forwarder due to wrong mail address?

We use the services of an online ERP / CRM system.

Our purchase invoices can be automatically entered in this system if our suppliers send mail to the mail address [email protected]
But I don't think that's very professional. I prefer it when suppliers send mail to [email protected]

So I want to make a forwarder.
However when I make a forwarder I get an error.

"String contains an invalid email address: [email protected]"

I guess this is because of the dot.

Is there a workaround for such a thing?

Can you try to edit manually from the server side?

/etc/virtual/grippmail.com/aliases
