errors after upgrading from MySQL to MariaDB

Hi

i made a mistake and did this upgrade
How can I delete (FULL) both databases engine and only MySQL Install again ? No data loss
i got a lot of commands, But I didn't succeed

My OS : Centos 7

after performing step 2:
Install the new desired version, say mariadb 10.4 or mysql 5.7, for example.

mysqlcheck: Got error: 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) when trying to connect
Restarting MySQL.
Job for mysqld.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status mysqld.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.
Installation completed.

could not save log
after executing the ./build mysql command
this error is display:

Giving mysqld a few seconds to start up...

Error: Failed while fetching Server version! Could be due to unauthorized access.
FATAL ERROR: Upgrade failed

Restarting MySQL.

On CentOS directory /usr/local/mysql/data is not used usually. Do you overwrite datadir in MySQL configs?
You might create it or simlink /var/lib/mysql/ to the folder.
