excessive traffic on main email account

Hi,

It has been a couple of days that there has been excessive email traffic on the main email account of one of my users. The strangest thing is that the main mail account isn't used at all on their websitei n mailforms or isn't published anywhere.

It started with a few hundred MB a day en pieked on 2GB! Thats just all wrong.

The first strange entries I got in the mainlog of exim where from aol mailservers. So I contacted [email protected] and since then it stopped. But now I getting entries for that mail account from yahoo.com, hotmail.com, eboxmail.net, etc.

I cant delete the main mailaccount, so what the hell is going on here. Its the only mail account from that user that has this problem, even other users dont have that problem.

I hope somebody here can help me out becouse It really bugs me.
 
I know, it is configured and up and running. No other DA users have that problem and also on that user account is it only the system account that has that mutch traffic

the main acount should stay empty

Got the same problem.
And don't use the main acount.
I don't want that this acount is being used.
I use Spamnihilator as spamfilter: that does not effect the inbox.

Is there a way it should stay empty?
 
Check your mailscripts if you use them. In my case, there whas a leak in my php mail script and they abused it to send spam to the main account

I do have a program that uses an mailscript (I think): a discussion program. I do not have access to that script.

My point is that I don't want this email adress one way or the other. It should stay empty. Allways.
No one reads it. No one should use it.
Why does it exist anyway?
 
It's the main account. I dont know the details about it. Naybe somebody here would know how to keep it empty.
