We are using Exim 4 on CPANEL server with CENTOS 5.
Currently I have one dedicated mail server on US datacenter. And all our users around the world send / receive emails by using that MTA on USA DC. I also have one machine in China DC. And we have users in China also.
Problem occurs when end user from china tries to send / receive email from our MTA hosted in US DC than china user’s gets very bad response because of network latency and connectivity issues. Fortunately we have better connectivity between China & US datacenters. And I am looking to utilize China DC machine.
At this point, i am trying to achieve functionality like china users will connect to china DC for sending / receiving emails i am looking to configure secondary SMTP server on china DC. And china SMTP server will than send relay emails to main SMTP server in US DC which hosts all users mailboxes and users need to authenticated via relay on US DC primary MTA which will responsible to send emails finally.
Please let me know if this is implacable for email sending/receiving from China? How to accomplish this? Or is there any better solution to resolve this issue?
I still think separate SMTP server on both datacenters can solve email sending/receiving issues. I need feedback and suggestions on this.
