Hi there,

I,m having problems when sending an email from my server. Now all my domains cant send email and got this problems.

R=lookuphost defer (-1): host lookup did not complete

how can i solve this problems.

can you tell me what exactly did you changed in that file ? I'm having the same issues on some emails, but It's very rarely happening.

10x.

Hi.

The problem occur when i change the IP for the server. Then when i look at the /etc/resolv.conf it was using an old IP. so i change it and everrythings fine.

The problem occurs because there's no running caching nameserver listed in the /etc/resolv.conf file. The nameservers to list are different for everyone, depending on what nameservers your upstream tells you to use.

I recently got same problem. I went to openDNS and put that DNS in and seems to took out the differ (-1) problem when sending from webmail of server.

Unless you become a member of OpenDNS and set your preferences, you may find you're getting a redirect IP# when the domain doesn't exist.
