Exim Help

I am fairly new to linux, so be gentle

Ok now I tried to update Exim. I followed the instructions at http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=51

and now I get the following error from UebiMiau
Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to localhost:25 in /var/www/html/webmail/inc/class.smtp.php on line 534
and this from squirrelmail.
Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to localhost:25 in /var/www/html/squirrelmail-1.4.2/class/deliver/Deliver_SMTP.class.php on line 40

any ideas as what to do?

Also needed to add that it is not recording any errors in the log files, it just fails to start.
