I check my domain dns from dnsstuff and see this:

Fail Single Point of Failure
RROR: Although you have at least 2 NS records, they both point to the same server, resulting in a single point of failure. You are required to have at least 2 nameservers per RFC 1035 section 2.2.

does anyone know how to fix this ? thanks first

get another IP for the same server.

though I think it shuld still be fine.

So I just need to add another ip to that server ?.

Right now i have 1 ip for host, and 2 ips for ns1 and ns2. if i add another the ip then it would be ns3 !? Thanks

to eliminate SPOF, you need another server as secondary dns, this server should put on to a different network from the primary one.

Adding ns3 on the same box won't help to get rid of SPOF.

I was about to write a detailed response but I thought I should get the domain so I could do more extensive testing to know exactly what the problem is.

Please give the domain name. Then I can explain why I may disagree with some of these posts.

i use zoneedit for secondary dns, but after i added 2 dns from zoneedit for my domain from registrar then what else do i have to do with DA to get rid of single point of failure?

Note: right now i have 2 dns from my box and 2 dns from zoneedit. thanks.

You should only have one from your server. Without you giving us the domain name it's impossible for us to test to see if you've done everything you need to do.

Even running your nameservers on seperate servers will not get rid or a SPoF if all the "www" records point to the same server.

My DNSReport shows that I have a SPoF when I have 3 servers in the topology below:

www: 206.51.234.180
ns1 : 91.186.11.113
ns2 : 38.99.248.189

None of the IP end up in the same datacenter but at the moment I still have a SPoF.

Would setting up Apache to serve the site from one of my nameservers and adding that IP to the DNS zone remove the SPoF or do I need to do something else to get rid of it?

My tests don't show a single point of failure; you might want to check with them to see what test they're running that shows it. I think they've got a bug; even earthlink.net tests as a single point of failure.
