Hi,

ya, currently we are facing the problem is we are not able to transfer zone from

Primary server to secondary..

In secondary server log shows permision denied!!

My question is the same... What are you using for zone trasnfer? If DA Multi-Server feature, have you made the Test for the connection?

Regards

Yes, we (SeLLeRoNe and I) do.

But the terms have been deprecated for years now in favor of Master and Slave, because there's no such thing as primary or secondary; both are authoritative.

But you need to tell us if you're using DirectAdmin first because this is a forum for DirectAdmin and DirectAdmin has one official and one unofficial method for managing BIND services between servers.

The official method uses multiple masters and synchronizes them internally; it's called Multi-Server Option and it's built into DirectAdmin. It requires both servers have DirectAdmin licenses.

The unofficial method is called Master2Slave DNS Replicator; you can search for it on these forums for more information. It uses standard master-to-slave replication, as the name implies, but requires you run scripts to make the slave servers aware of the masters. While designed for DirectAdmin servers, you can probably modify it to work on servers not running DirectAdmin.

If you're running DirectAdmin on both servers I'd strongly suggest running Multi-Server Option, as it resolves the issues you're facing.

If you're running DirectAdmin on the master and not on the slave then you can safely use Master2Slave DNS replicsator.

If you're not running DirectAdmin, then it's possible someone may be able to help you, but we're generally not experts in setting up slave nameservers so you'd need to give us a lot of detail. What you've previously given isn't enough, because it's obviously not working.

I Googled your error message and got a link to this; depending on the OS distribution you're using, it may help.

I give all beginner posts the benefit of the doubt; I remember when I was a beginner myself. I and DirectAdmin Staff as well, eventually figure out who spammers are, and also who the bots are.

I'm guessing it's someone who found our forum when looking for DNS forum somewhere, and has no idea what DirectAdmin is.

But my response is (and I try to be sure all are) helpful to more than just the original poster, so I tend to be as thorough in my posts as I have time.
