Failing to build PHP 7.4

Attempted to build PHP 7.4 on FreeBSD 12.1 64-bit stopped with the following error:


#./build set php1_release 7.3
#./build set php2_release 7.4
#./build php d
...

configure: error: The pkg-config script could not be found or is too old. Make sure it
is in your PATH or set the PKG_CONFIG environment variable to the full
path to pkg-config.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables LIBXML_CFLAGS
and LIBXML_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.

I guess this will help:

cd /usr/ports/devel/pkgconf
make install
Works now.. Instead of using the ports tree, I used the package manager and I found I needed a few more packages:

pkg install pkgconf krb5 openssl

After further testing it didnt work.
