Hi I'm learnign to use direct admin under 2222 on a remote server hoster in the UK. I can get in, browse the files edit those which are already there but when I attempt to upload it fails.

I've followed the breif help file file manager, browse up to 8 files in the directory you want them to appear in I get the message back upload sucessful but nothing appears on the server.

Do I need to do something else?

What is the normal format for log in on the ftp program?

I'm using the same user name and password I use to get to the admin panel.

Should I ftp to my site or to the site the admin panel runs through?

The host isn't helping much he's so busy running all his own sites he hasn't got much time to get mine sorted, but then thats why he sold it to me in the first place.

Please help I can get into php as well as all domains so if I need to look in a specific place for any data I can if only someone can direct me to the correct location.

Thank you

If ftp is uploading the files but then you don't see them online, it's possible you're uploading them to the wrong directory.

The directory that's going to be visible on the 'net is:

domains/example.com/public_html

where of course you replace example.com with your domain name.

It shouldn't matter if you use your site name or the IP#.

What do you mean by:
Should I ftp to my site or to the site the admin panel runs through?
???
