Hi All,

Since I moved to a new server I'm getting a DNS warning for all domains using Google Apps:

intodns.com:

ERROR: No reverse DNS (PTR) entries. The problem MX records are:
27.203.125.74.in-addr.arpa -> no reverse (PTR) detected
26.203.125.74.in-addr.arpa -> no reverse (PTR) detected
27.130.125.74.in-addr.arpa -> no reverse (PTR) detected
You should contact your ISP and ask him to add a PTR record for your ips

Delivery over IPv4 to [email protected] could not be done.

Failed to deliver email for SOA RNAME of mydomain.com (hostmaster.mydomain.com) using [email protected].

I've searched through all forums, some say I can safely ignore this, but I would like it double checked.

Anyone can guide me here? Thanks :)

I have seen this a few times (the warnings you posted from intodns.com), and after waiting a few days, the errors/warnings are gone. I think it is a temporary problem Google experience sometimes, and that you can't do anything about it other then wait until Google fixes it in anything from a few hours to a few days.

IP addresses do not have reverse records. They may be added by Internet Service Provider (or VPS provider) that assigns those IP addresses.

Lots of servers are using spam filtering tools to fight unwanted mail.
Checking if sender server has a PTR record is often used.

So it depends:
If You are planing to send mails via these IP addresses and do not want to increase Your mail being rejected or put in spam folders, I'd advice You to add those records :)
