I may be wrong, But...

Try installing it using the plug in manager for DA, this way you can also have it apear in the users control panel too. I have a few other apps that usually are run as root installed this way.

You're wrong, Paul. That Miami Beach sun must be going to your head :D.

Only plugins written specifically for DirectAdmin may be installed through the DirectAdmin plugin manager.

Confused...

As I said "I may be wrong", then if I was right, then wouldnt I have been wrong?
so by being wrong...therefore...I am right!
 
This plugin is not DA plugin
It is installed system wide
It comes with shell script to install it and I think it also make changes to httpd.conf
