Have mailing lists bounce unsubscribed mail?

I'm curious regarding something. Currently a client of mine has a mailing list that is restricted to a private group of individuals that do not want any outside contact posting to their mailing list. I locked down their mailing list so that only people within the group can send email and that the subscribe and unsubscribe policies are closed.

When I tried testing this mailing list for them, everything works great. When I (my address isn't on their list) sent an email, nothing every came back, but nothing ever went onto their mailing list either. Is there any way to make it when I send an email to their list, that it bounces back giving a fake error?

I can't help with your question but could you give me the settings you specified for closing the group down so only registered email addresses can send?

I've pretty much set eveything to closed but I can still send from 'any' email address and the emails get distributed by the list.

Must be setting something incorrectly.
