i've bought this days a vps plan and when i put dns on namecheap, it shows me this :
Unable to Update Nameservers
We encountered some issues when setting nameservers. The reported problem is: Nameserver 'ns1.mydomain.com' could not be registered

i think the problem from DNS Administration in directadmin, i don't know how setup DNS well in directadmin admin section.

i need just the steps of DNS configuration , if you can please i need images it will help better.

thank you

First: the domain name should be helpful for check.

Second: where do you get that error?

On directadmin admin setting you just need to put the ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com (same as reseller level at nameserver section).

On your domain reseller interface you need to setup ns1 and ns2 with the ip address they will have, once you have setup your nameservers you can add those nameservers to your domains.

Hope this was helpful.

Regards

please give me the full correct steps for setting up DNS on DirectAdmin, for i can check if my dns configuration is well or not .

Many of us are happy to do that for a fee. Our you can get an answer by giving us the domain name of your nameservers so we can tell you here, on these forums, what we find to be in error, with no charge to you.

Or you can read DirectAdmin's help system; look here.

I don't see why you'd expect to have someone spoon-feed you information rather than read the help already available,

I suppose you might think that way don't have much to do except help newcomers on these forums, but the fact is we're usually very busy running our own hosting businesses.

If after you read the help system you have specific questions, ask away and we'll help you the best we can, but be aware that we generally will need to know the domain name for which you're setting up nameservers in order to be of any help; if we can't see the problem it will be very hard to answer.
