Where's The ANY Key?
  • How can a DA User (not reseller or admin) configure a generic bounce message for incoming email directed to a specific address? This must be achieved without alteration to the existing domain catch-all account.

Eg: BOUNCE INCOMING EMAIL ADDRESSED TO <[email protected]>

At present the DA User Email Filter menu only provides the following options:
    [1] Block the following email:
    [2] Block the following domain
[3] Block email containing this word
[4] Block e-mail larger than (Kb)

  • Hello louie55. That would require the User to compose a fake (static) exim bounce message. Is there no way to simply instruct DA to generate a ***real*** (dynamic) exim bounce message? :(

You could probably create a custom exim.conf file that would do it, although I don't know if it would really be a "bounce" message, since the address must exist at least to handle the message, so it's not a true bounce.

I'd ask this on the exim-users list.

So much for the DA User Email Filter

  • Many thanks for the suggestion JL. Will DA preserve any changes we make by hand to exim.conf?
