help setting up reseller

I have had ongoing problems with setting up a reseller. I hired someone here on this forum (names will not be discussed) who made a mess of things with the IP addresses and now I am happily back to square one having deleted the reseller and the users (just one so far so not a big problem.) Now I am stuck since the reason I hired someone in the first place is because I do not know how to do this and need help. I have two IP addresses I want to use: one will be exclusively for my reseller domain (freetradedomains.com --> reseller name "freetrade" ) and one will be shared among all my user's sites. I have created an "unlimited" package for this reseller but I have a feeling it is not correct. There is something basic that I am missing here as far as understanding how it works.

In addition, I am using 1and1.com as my host and they require that I set up new domains through theri CP and then add them to DA. 1and1 gives me name servers to use for each domain but if I have several domains on one IP address they could conceivably be given different name servers so how do I give different name servers to different domains on the same IP?

I would like to have someone do this for me but I am leery of trying this route again after what happened previously. Nevertheless, this is what I am asking for. I need someone who can
1) create the reseller package
2) create the reseller
3) create the domain for the reseller on one IP
4) create the user package
5) create one user (domain will be provided)

Anyone who can do this (without causing me any more heartache) will be rewarded generously.

Why? What specifically does their Control Panel set up for you that requires you set up the new domains through it?

Is it something installed on your server, or elsewhere?

Do you have to use their nameserver? Why? Why not just ignore their information? Or do they also determine the IP# you get on the fly?

All of those are easily doable on DirectAdmin. If the result doesn't work, then the problem may be with something 1&1 is doing or requires.

Thank you for responding Jeff. I have been told by the 1and1 admin that this is the way all domains must be set up. As far as I know there is no way around it.

The only reason I use their name servers is because it is easy and I do not know how else to do it. So, the answer to your question is "No" I do not have to use their servers.

Easy for you but not for the technically challenged and unaware like myself. I am afraid to touch it now since I seem to mess it up and I have hired several server admins who also messed it up (no longer with me) but they were not familiar with DA so... here I am on a Sunday afternoon when the sun is shining and I am sitting at my computer. I wish I could find someone who is very familiar with DA that would do small jobs like this for me now and then. Interested?
