Help,
I am trying to find where the eMail folders are on our server but they have been "hidden" !

We have reseller hosting with a managed server but have decided to change to a new hosting provider (who doesn't offer migration facilities).

We have about 46 Domains each with 1 to 25 email addresses. Roundcube is the email client. I want to ensure that emails are not lost due to the migration as none have been downloaded from the server (a serious fault with Roundcube). We cannot check aprox 25,000 individual emails !!

So - I want to do the simple task of copying the Mail folders to a local machine in order to upload them to the new server. Simple right ? No - impossible because the current web host has 'hidden' the Mail folders and there are no mail folders shown at any level of DA access on any user account. A Maildir folder does exist in each Domain but they are all empty and there is no access to the Roundcube files.

Our Direct Admin can create and delete email accounts (and change the quotas of course) but it cannot back them up or copy them. It can restore backups of accounts but cannot create them !!!!! It apears that the current web host has deliberately changed the system files to block the possibility of transfers.

Has anyone any idea of how and where the mail files could have been placed or how we can access them to copy ?????

Ta very much

I would be extremely careful of using a random online service that wants all your email account passwords. They may or may not store all emails passing through. You really have no way of knowing. I would rather download imapsync and run it from your own server.

Thanks guys. The problem is over now as we have closed down the old service and now have our own server running normal configuration [thank goodness :-) ]
