How can I change the default domain name

I installed direct admin with a domain name but that name was wrong so I need to change this. How can I do this. Please help.

On user level go under domain administration and click change domain.

it displays:

No Data to Show

and my domain name is not shown there.. Is there a way to manually change this from shell?

Then I don't know what you mean by domainname.

Do you mean hostname?

You can change that from the main DirectAdmin login screen; look for Server Administration.

Thanks for the help.. . I changed it, but still a problem.. When I try to create the same domain name for a user, it displays Cannot create user That domain already exists

ok I fixed it.. I edited the dns zone file and removed the domain.. and it now works.. but it it looks like a bug to me.. It should not be done manually.

Your hostname should NOT be the same as a domain name hosted on the server. If it is you'll have lots of problems; especially with email.

For example, if your domain name is example.com, then the hostname may be (for example) host.example.com, but never example.com.
