How can I stop dovecot service?

I use DA panel in my vps,but I don't need to use email service,how can I stop the dovecto service and remove it ?
I need more memory for my websites.

stop it with directadmin and it wont be running or restart.

I forget... if you stop it in DA, I'm pretty sure it'll restart it upon reboot.

Stop the service then log into SSH and do:

chkconfig dovecot off
