how to edit new site?

There's multiple ways you can edit your web pages.

The first is through your control panel. Once you login click on the file manager button at the top, navigate to the directory where your page is located and click the edit button for the file that needs editing.

The second is to to download the page with a FTP client like FileZilla, edit with a text editor such as Note Pad then upload it again with your FTP client.

There are other ways but those two are the most common.

Thanks. I did get into the files after you explained a bit. I am not computer savy at the coding level so I need really basic instructions.

I found that I needed to click on one certain file and that let me in to do some editing. However, I do not know how to "code" so I will have to try the other method. Soryy, but Im only a Drag and Drop guy at the moment.

I'll give the ftp a try. I need to be able to move graphics and place links in certain areas, and as I said, I do not know how to code those things. Cant I somehow get the file back to my software, work on it, and then rehost it?

Thanks.

That's what FTP is for; for moving files between your site and your local system.

Of course the software you use (you don't mention what it is) may have it's own method for moving software to and from a site.

If your hosting account is on a server which uses DirectAdmin your control panel should have a link or button marked Files or File Manager which offers tools for moving files between your local system and your hosting account.

And if your hosting account is NOT on a server using DirectAdmin, then you're asking in the wrong place; we're a DirectAdmin forum.

Jeff,
Thanks a lot. I tried this and you are correct. The software is an inexpensive brand, WB6 drag and drop type. I will graduate to bigger and better as time goes on now that I know what to look for and/or expect in a package.

Yes, I am hosted with a company that uses DA, thats how I found this site.

I am also In need of understanding how to access my new website e-mails?

I can see that I created them, but cant figure out where to open them?

If you were going to access your website e-mail, what steps would you follow?

Thanks

Try:
www.domain.com/squirrelmail (domain = your domain name)
www.domain.com/webmail (domain = your domain name)
www.domain.com/roundcube (domain = your domain name)

Gee, I click, "remember me," EVERY time log in but keep getting asked for my password!

I am trying to use any one of these but each one demands, guess what...a password! So I can I set up a password? I tried Googling these services and get no where.

I cannot BELIVE the level of knowledge needed to access an e-mail account. On C-panel, a literal now, a FIRST grader can do it.

None of webmail scripts have this function (Remeber me) of safety reasons.

No, no, it's just different webmail programs, otherwise use the same password and email account

in this case Squirrelmail is very solid program for mail that do not need a lot of internet resources, while others such as Roundcube require more resources due to advanced programming is used as AJAX etc

When you set up your email you set up the password yourself. If you're asking about the default username email set up by DirectAdmin when the account is setup, then you use the same username (no domain name) and password you use for FTP.
