Hey all, I run a few DA servers, and have run into a similar problem with all my instances. We are listed on backscatter lists as spammers. I assume the default mail settings of the servers lend themselves to backscatter abuse.

Ive done a search on here and google for a fix to this, but came up with only confusing or incomplete fixes to the problem.

Does anyone know if there is a definitive fix to keeping my sites immune from the backscatter abuse? Im running fairly stock standard directadmin installs.

Thanks!!

Which version of exim.conf are you using (answer should be within the first ten lines or so)?

The latest version I've produced, SpamBlocker-Powered exim.conf, Version 4 (nobaloney.net) should fix the backscatter problem. Don't install it yourself without reading the ReadMe file and making sure you understand everything.

Thanks, I tried using your new config file and it didn't work out for me unfortunatly, i'm sure there is one of your settings that I screwed up. But was wondering, do you know if there is a snippet I could insert into my stock exim config file to deal with just the isolated backscatter issue?

thanks!!

(I dont mind paying for your config file setup, but I just need that little snippet that could tkae care of the backscatter issue)

I don't recall the specific change. Perhaps someone else will and post here.

I do know that it was something discussed in these forums.
