[HOWTO] mod_ruid2

Did you wait for DNS propagation? Does any error appeared?

Can you create a subdomain and give me the subdomain.domain.tld and the ip for a test?

Regards

I sent PM.

DNS propogation is not needed i think because this domain is in this ip for a long time. For this apache issue i reinstalled server.

Thanks

Ive already tested an replied.

I suppose is just a DNS propagation issue cause manual edit on hosts files make me see subdomain placeholder without issue.

Ok i am going to wait if it is going to work or not. Should i do something else about the files which gives error if i add.

<Directory "/var/www/html">
Options -Indexes FollowSymLinks
AllowOverride All
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
<IfModule mod_suphp.c>
suPHP_Engine On
suPHP_UserGroup webapps webapps
SetEnv PHP_INI_SCAN_DIR
</IfModule>
RUidGid webapps webapps
</Directory>

You had right guess about propogation of subdomains one worked (email.....com)

nano -w /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf

and adding exactly the same code which i post at the end of the conf. file.

After this when i restart apache it says failed.

Thanks for the assistance.

mmmh the guide sayd to add the code between lines:

Add the line below between the <Directory "/var/www/html"> and </Directory>
Code:
<Directory "/var/www/html">
    Options -Indexes FollowSymLinks
    AllowOverride All
    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all
   <IfModule mod_suphp.c>
        suPHP_Engine On
        suPHP_UserGroup webapps webapps
        SetEnv PHP_INI_SCAN_DIR
   </IfModule>
   RUidGid webapps webapps
</Directory>
So, you need to remove the lines you added, find the <Directory "/var/www/html"> line and let it look like the one you up here.

I couldnt find the directory. It seems apache 2.2 conf file i updated to 2.4.1 is it in another place??

From what I've heard it has indeed been removed at 2.4. In file /etc/httpd/conf/extra/httpd-directories.conf you can find the same <Directory "/var/www/html"> block in either case.

Depending on the version of DirectAdmin you're using, that step may no longer be necessary. I'd recommend you first be sure that DirectAdmin is at the latest version, and then remove these templates from the custom directory.

Everything seem works fine at the moment. Only issue is the amount of total ram is too high (750 - 800 MB consuming) . I installed Centos 6 - 64 bit with Apache 2.4, modruid2, CB1.2 it wasnt as much as this before on 32 bit centos 5 server. What do you recommend which version of Centos should i use with this configuration.. what are your recommendations.

Thanks.

How can i findout that it is cached or permanent memory consuming is there any trics to improve performance with this configuration.

Result ;

Total Mem : 2097152 Used : 764968 Free : 1332184 Shared : 0 Buffers : 0 Cached : 0 Swap : 0

Isnt it much for a new installation?

Yes I am . If i go Centos 6 -32 bit could it be useful for Ram And Performance? On the other hand i get brute forces as seen below is it also effecting server?

Code:

000000023	Brute-Force Attack detected in service log from IP(s) 69.148.186.174	Today at 12:00

So a QuadCore, i suppose 64Bit is the way, well, i would also suggest to increase ram, but.. shouldnt be that slow on a fresh install.

What is top command reporting?
