Mail bounces with retry errors

I have problems sending mail to a forward address on my domain covs.nl to some domains, e.g. ziggo.nl, zonnet.nl. Other domains are just fine. When I send an e-mail to the e-mail address on the domains directly, it succeeds. But when I send it via the forward if fails.

The errors returned are one of the below:

retry time not reached for any host after a long failure period
retry timeout exceeded

I have checked the DNS settings and the only problem I see is that only one DNS server seems to respond.
I have tried to temporarily stop csf and lfd, but without success.
I have checked RBLs, but the domain is not on any list.
I have removed the files in /var/spool/exim/db and restarted exim.

Nothing seems to be working.

Could anyone help me with this?

Those aren't the real errors. Thos are simply the reasons you're getting the email back. You need to check your /var/log/exim/mainlog file to see what errors are eing returned by the recipient server.

Thanks for your reply. I set the log_selctor to all and noticed that some outbound connections to valid mailservers were blocked. When I checked the csf.deny the mailservers IP's were in there due to port scans on port 25. I removed them and set the threshold of PT-SCAN from 5 to 10. Hope this helps.
