Greetings,

In DirectAdmin's Mail Queue Administration, I keep getting a series of strange emails:

ID Time Size Sender Frozen Recipient(s) Select
1Lvo2P-0000Tv-5O 7m 1.4K <> yes [email protected]

1Lvo2Z-0000VA-65 7m 1.3K <> yes [email protected]

1LvUmn-0001OO-OY 21h 105K <> yes [email protected]

1LvUmr-0001Rd-5R 21h 1.7K <> yes [email protected]

1Lv8JF-0004Nq-Up 45h 105K <> yes [email protected]

1Lv8JJ-0004QZ-2t 45h 1.7K <> yes [email protected]

I don't have a 'root' email address. For whatever reason, I think this may be related to the installation of CSF (ConfigServer Security & Firewall) / LFD (Login Failure Daemon).

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Ansel

Anyone with a virtual mail system should always add "root:your@email" to /etc/aliases, otherwise they won't receive any system warning (like crons).
Like you said it is probably related to CSF: warnings are also sent to the root user.

I typed it ^^ in and it spit back:

[email protected] /root/.forward

So I thawed the messages in my mail queue, resent them, and they came back frozen again. What was that command supposed to do?

Guess you didnt type it right then did you? It spits back nothing. Fail!

You're right. I missed the > .

I did it again and this time it took. But the mail queue is still plugged. I thawed them, resent and they returned frozen again. Any other thoughts?

Well it will only get to you if its sent to root@hostname or root. If it is [email protected] you would have to add a root name in the forwarder for that domain in da control panel.
